As I drove south on Route 7 in Berkshire County, the sun was at the correct angle and position to allow me to capture this extraordinary composition, I feel that this photograph fulfills Luminism as defined - “expressing the nuances of light and shadow, atmosphere, projecting serenity and timelessness.
Light, shadow, no matter when used can capture the emotion of the photographic image. This image shares both a positive and negative emotion. I see, perhaps the glow of an ending day, and the memories that that day offered, some good, some bad and some undefined. I also see, feel the glow and warmth of the sunset, reminding me that a new day will soon arrive. The new day will be as I make it, steered in some way by the winds of positive and negative actions.
